The L.A. Times Festival of Books is almost here! The annual event will take place on April 22 and 23, 2023. More than 500 writers, musicians and creatives will attend. Who will be there? Diane Stelfox Cook shares some names to look forward to seeing on the USC campus:
The L.A. Times Festival of Books is an annual literary celebration. This year, the event will take place on the University of Southern California (USC)’s 226 acre campus. Even Organizer and Associate Director of Events Ann Binney stated that she aims to make this year’s event even better than last year. Last year was the first year that the Times brought its Festival of Books revisited in-person events. And after taking a gander at the lineup of who will be there, Diane Stelfox Cook certainly thinks that the Festival is well on its way to being better than ever before!
The L.A. Times Festival of Books will kick off with a headline event with author Gabrielle Zevin. She will discuss her novel, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. Other wonderful writers scheduled to host booktalks, author meet and greets and book signings at the event are: Fatima Asghar, Pico Iyer, Tess Gunty, Susan Straight, TC Boyle, Andrew Sean Greer, Jess Row, Dave Eggers, Rebeca Makkai, Kate DiCamillo, Lois Lowry, Anna Todd, Jane Smiley, Walter Mosley, Adriana Trigiani and Roxane Gay. Now that’s a lot of talented writers! Diane Stelfox Cook is particularly looking forward to the Book Prizes segment, which will involve The Times presenting the Robert Kirsch Award to James Ellroy, legal thriller novelist.
