Professional Career
Author & Attorney
Since 1987, Diane Stelfox Cook has practiced as an attorney. She is currently part of the Heaney and Small Law Firm team; she has served as counsel for the law firm since 2017. In this capacity, Stelfox Cook specializes in real estate law. Outside of her work as an attorney, the professional has also embarked on independent projects, including the publication of her first book: So Many Angels. A memoir which details one of the most difficult turning points in Stelfox Cook’s life, So Many Angels is an uplifting story of perseverance in returning to a state of normalcy when that simple concept seems out of reach. Truly personal, this memoir tells the story of Stelfox Cook’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis, which was entangled in unrelated turmoil she never anticipated making its way into her life.
Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Advocate
Following her own diagnosis of MS, Diane Stelfox Cook has become passionate about supporting research efforts on the disease. Despite its slow-moving rise over the years, there is still little understood about multiple sclerosis as a whole. Doctors continue to theorize about the cause of the disease, but it is still unclear what exactly is to blame. Stelfox Cook hopes that through her advocacy efforts in raising awareness about the importance of continued research on MS, she can do her part to help uncover what MS truly is and why it happens. She dreams of a day when MS is not only better understood, but also has an opportunity to embrace possible cure solutions. For now, simply teaching others about the warning signs and earliest symptoms can make a world of difference in the lives of so many people. The earlier the diagnosis, the better a person’s chance is at halting disease progression.
